The Artist.

I am Mary O'Mahony, a multidisciplinary artist living and working in Kilcrohane, the last village on the Sheep's Head Peninsula — a rocky, rugged sliver of land jutting out into the wild Atlantic Ocean in West Cork, Ireland.

Graduating from Crawford College of Art and Design in 2013 with a degree in Fine Art, I am a painter, printmaker and colour lover. Over the years I have broadened my skills in printmaking and textile design, furthering my technical training at places like Cork Printmakers in Cork and Central Saint Martins in London.

I have exhibited across Ireland and internationally as a professional artist, in settings ranging from traditional galleries to festivals — including Electric Picnic, where the installation I made was removed for being too much fun! I have also worked as an Artist Facilitator with older adults living in residential care, and my work has been displayed in shop windows like Brown Thomas, as well as in local pubs, disused cinemas, and college canteens, to name but a few. Diversity is integral to my practice, and it's what keeps it fun.

The Mission.

Having recently returned home to the wilds of West Cork

I bring together all the skills I've picked up along the way to create original Irish art and custom design.

My work is a homage to the natural beauty of my surroundings — a kaleidoscopic colour palette that continuously shifts with the seasons. It focuses on the beauty in the everyday: the landscape, the weeds, the trees, the rainbows, life.

My mission is to make considered, colourful, professional Irish art - something for you to cherish - in your home.

The Process - Professional. Quality. Ethical. Sustainable.

Mary Oh Studio is the culmination of my varied artistic career and combines Fine Art Skills with contemporary design expertise. The studio which is located in an old cowshed on the Sheeps Head in West Cork, is in the process of being lovingly restored. It is inspired by its locality, and has a focus on sustainability, biodiversity, and conscious living. I have chosen to take charge of the print and production of everything I make and sell. Everything is painted, printed, designed, and packaged by me in house. Each material and detail of my work has been thoughtfully considered, to balance exceptional quality, longevity, and environmental responsibility. Whether a greeting card, limited edition fine art print, or an original painting - you can trust that it has been made to be valued and loved for years to come, using premium materials.
